What happened:
· January
o We decided on University of Utah
o We got our 4D sonogram
o We sold the bug
· February
o Got maternity pictures taken
o We started birthing class
o We started our online scrapbook
o The Marie Antoinette Exhibit at the legion of honor
o Brook received her favorite Valentine’s gift ever, Juice!
· March
o 4 baby showers
o Maternity leave began
o We scheduled our induction
· April
o Carter Pierce was born
o We got Carter’s newborn pictures taken
· May
o Carter went to church for the first time
o Brook’s first Mother’s day
o We got our cradle swing
o Emanuel turned 2 and Carter went to his birthday party
o Carter met his Uncle Jeff and Auntie Rachelle when they came for a surprise visit
· June
o Our 3 year Anniversary
o Carter started smiling at us
o Dave’s first Father’s day
o Mann family reunion
o Carter’s baby blessing
o Carter got his first immunizations
o Carter slept through the night
o Carter’s first flight
o Carter met his Great Great Grandpa Sabine
· July
o Carter moved to his crib in his own room
o Carter switched to his big boy car seat
o Carter met his Grandpa and Grandma Huntington
o Dave turned 28 and Brook made his birthday cake
o Our kitty Atticus moved in with Brook’s brother
o Pele went to the Humane Society and hopefully found a good home
o The Philpott family welcomed 3 new kids into their family
o Dave left Ceramic Tile Center after 8 years
o Brook’s 24th birthday was spent packing

o We moved to Utah
o Carter started watching his They Might Be Giants DVDs
o We got a 5 generation photo with Carter’s Great Great Grandpa on down
o A visit from Grandma and Papa Mann and Uncle George, and cousins Seneca and Emeric
o Brook went to her first Mom’s group
o We established a bedtime routine for Carter
o Carter got diagnosed with Reflux
o Dave started school

o Fauxpa came to Utah for a visit
o Carter started hanging out with Scarlett
o Dave got a laptop
o Carter started eating rice cereal
o Brook and Carter went to the dinosaur museum with Stacey and Scarlett
o We went to Tracy Aviary as a family for the first time
o Brook and Carter went to Hogle Zoo for the first time with Stacey and Scarlett
o We had stake conference at the conference center and saw the Prophet speak
o We started having weekly family days
o We went to the zoo again as a family
o Carter stopped nursing
o Carter gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks
o The Pierce family came to visit and Jonathan entered the MTC
o Carter started eating fruits and veggies with a spoon
o Carter started rolling over

o Fauxpa visited again
o Brook and Carter went to the Tracy Aviary again with Stacey and Scarlett
o Dave’s mission reunion
o Family day to the Salt Lake City Public Library
o We went to Gardener Village for Mom’s group
o Brook and Dave went to the dollar theatre for their first real date since Carter was born
o We had our first snow in Utah
o Brook and Carter went to This is the Place park with Liz and Max
o We went through the corn maze at Cornbelly’s with Uncle Jeff and Auntie Rachelle, picked out pumpkins and had our family pictures taken
o Family day to the Alpine Loop
o Family day to the Utah State Capitol
o Boo at the Zoo
o Carter started sleeping unswaddled
o Halloween Party
· November
o Scarlett’s first birthday party
o Carter went out in the snow for the first time
o We started babysitting Scarlett during the day
o We organized our closet
o We went to the midnight showing of Twilight with Rachelle while Carter slept at Uncle Jeff’s house
o Utah beat BYU in the “holy war”
o Carter got his 2 bottom teeth
o Carter started saying “Dada”
o The Philpott family welcomed 1 more child into their family
o Brook and Rachelle cooked Thanksgiving dinner and Uncle George and the kids came to visit
o Another visit from the Pierces
· December
o Brook started work with MGIS
o Dave finished his first semester at the U with an A in one class and a B in the other
o Carter met Santa
o Carter started sitting on his own
o Carter’s Great Great Grandpa Sabine passed away at 99 years old
o Carter’s first Christmas
o GG and Grandma Anderson came to Utah
o Grandpa Sabine’s funeral
o Lord of the Rings marathon with the Millers on New Year’s Eve
2009
Predictions:
· Dave will return to school in the fall
· Carter will start crawling by February
· We will go to California in April
· Dave will find a job soon
· Carter will start walking and talking
· Carter will have at least one cousin born this year
· Dave will finally finish Les Miserables and read at least 20 other books this year
· Brook and Dave will lose 20 lbs each and Carter will gain 10
· Carter will stop needing medicine for his reflux
We will have more family move to Utah and lots of visitors
