Leap frog

We are very in to educational toys so when we found this we were super excited. It's the Leap Frog Junior Tag. Right now Carter only has 2 books but he would be happy with just the last page of his ABC Animal Orchestra book. He totally knows how to use it correctly and even repeats the letters when it says them. My favorite part is that you can hook it up to the computer and track his learning to see which areas he's focusing on and how long he spends reading. I love it and highly recommend it!

And yes, that is a tiger with a turntable.

Hair!

As you can see Carter desperately needed a haircut!

Since Aania is a busy lady I convinced Dave to take Carter to a place called Cookie Cutters to get his hair cut.
They came prepared with the ABCs!

So handsome!

Ooh La la!

First off, I just want to let everyone know this is my 900th post! Wow!

So like I said we had a couple at home dates this weekend and Saturday was my turn to plan. We went for a french theme.

Cheese fondue (ok, it was technically swiss fondue but fondue can be french.) Thanks Karen for the recipes!

A Monet puzzle. Ya, I gave up when I opened the box. We also watched Moulin Rouge but I was a lame date and fell asleep before we could even get to dessert.

So... we made the chocolate fondue Sunday night and shared it with John and Noelle.

My little nerd

We got Carter this quilt and the pluto pillow for his new bed. We didn't get these sheets because we found much cheaper ones. My poor kid has no chance of not becoming a nerd...

Machine washable!!!

We love the car seat we picked for Carter but we've always had one problem with it... it's not machine washable! It's sort of a suede material and spot cleaning does wonders for it but sometimes it just gets gross. So I went on the hunt for a new cover. I didn't really love any of the ones I found until I came across this one. I need to remove the ruffle but other than that I'm in love with it! AND it's machine washable!!!!

*Keep reading. I did a few posts today.

Wii!

Last night was our first "at home" date which was planned by Dave.

The activity: Wii!

The dessert: an edible arrangement! I've wanted one of these for a while and was SO surprised!! Yummy!

And since I can't do a post without the kiddo...

Tonight is my night to plan and it's a french theme. Expect pictures soon!!!

Ring around the Rosies!

Today we went to play with Emery and we all had lots of fun!

They played a lot of ring around the Rosie...

They shared a box of raisons...
...and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Then they played in a little rocking chair.

There's nothing like a pretty girl to keep you pointed in the right direction!

We always have tons of fun playing with Emery, Asher and Melissa! Thanks for having us over!!!

Fun and Friends!

Yesterday was a very fun day for all of us. I babysat Carter's friend Noah and then the Changs came for dinner. Here are some pictures:

Carter being anti-social.

Playing at the table!

Big head!

Any Arrested Development fans out there?

Go A's

Kaden hanging out after Carter went to bed
Dave playing Wii
Kamai playing Wii... Are they playing the same game?

I'll take those!

Carter looked so cute at church today so I tried to take a picture when we got home. Here are the attempts.

Dance party!!!

Now that's love!

Here Comes Science!

We said before that Carter's favorite band is They Might Be Giants. He has loved the DVDs Here Come the ABCs and Here Come the 123s for some time now and I think that is a big factor in him being able to say his ABCs and count to 20. Well, a little while ago we discovered that they had made another educational cd/dvd combo called Here Come Science. Of course, we had to get it and Carter loves it just as much! It's so cute to watch him try to sing along to songs about the planets, elements and even electric cars. Here are some of his best reactions to the movie.

His reaction to the THEORY of evolution. We agree buddy...

"Elephants are made of elements..."

"I am a paleontologist..." (He's swaying back and forth)

"My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas."*

And this morning's reaction... Ok, so it's not as fun when you get up at 4:30am.

*Mars, Venus, Earth, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. When you subtract Pluto Mom serves you Nothing instead of Nine Pizzas. See the world was better when Pluto was a planet!
