Don't sit too close to the TV...

Yummy!

Carter's having a fun day with Mommy while daddy's at work! He even calls me "mama" now instead of yaya or dada! Since Jamba Juice is one of Carter AND Mommy's favorite things we got one to share while we were out.

A big fat day!

Today was my Friday off and I actually got a lot done! Dave had to work from 9-4 so it was just me and Carter which I really miss. We did a lot together today and I did a lot while he was napping! Here is our day in a nutshell:
I made this while Carter was napping in addition to doing some dishes and cleaning the bathroom.
Who wants to sit while they are on the computer?

So cute!

Carter and I have a game where I put puffs on the coffee table and he has to cruise around and get them. Here he is going for one in particular that got stuck on his hand but he finally got it.

We hosted playgroup today so some of Carter's friends came over to play. It was fun to see him interact with Max and Allie! He even taught Max to head butt (which Daddy taught him) and they kept crawling up to each other and putting their heads together. I couldn't get a great picture but I did get one! We were talking about the kids weight so I took out my scale and Carter now weighs a whopping 18 lbs!!! He is only a few ounces shy of the chart!

Carter loves books and he especially loves to turn the pages. He got to sit down with Daddy when he got home and read his Elmo book.

We had our friends the Rollins over for dinner and we made homemade Mac 'N Cheese with smoked Gouda. We decided to give Carter some and he LOVED it. I cut my little shells in half and put a bunch on his tray and it either ended up in his mouth, on his bib, on his face or in his lap! It was nice to have him eat at the table with us and fun to see him make a mess and enjoy my cooking!

Carter vs. Foot

I am happy that I have such a good audience for my silliness, as Brook is more inclined to say, "stop acting like a goober." With our carpets drying from being cleaned and Carter not being able to crawl around, I had to be more creative to keep him entertained. This included singing, dancing, playing air guitar, and attacking him with my feet (as the video above demonstrates). At least someone laughs at my goofy antics, for which I am grateful.

Happy late birthday Rory!

We made the sign yesterday... does that count?

And the winner is...

The nominees are...

We've been trying to get Carter to use a sippy cup for a while because he's become disenchanted with bottles and he needs to have more liquids. We've tried 6 different types of sippy cups and tonight I had a break through! I think because it's a lot like a bottle and it functions the same (none of this bite the straw and suck at the same time crap) but he drank from it! Not a ton, but enough to make me happy and hopeful for future hydration habits! Hooray Munchkin! We love you. We'd also like to thank Costco for making this possible.

Please note his cup is not pink or purple. It's orange and I think he has a blue one too.

Playground playdate

We got together with the Pughs today and played on the playground. Carter got tired very quickly but Max enjoyed it! Here are some pictures I stole from Liz's blog! Thanks Liz!

The perfect park

Right now we driving around searching for the perfect park because tomorrow Carter and his friend Max have a playdate. This was the park Rory took us to go disc golfing when we were visiting. It's a no go for tomorrow because it doesn't have any swings but this was fun! Ok, now we are totally lost!

Lunch date!

My boys came to visit me at work for lunch today and it was so fun! I was so excited all morning waiting for them to get here! Thanks boys! I love you!

Playing with scarlett's toy

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Self explanatory and long over due!

Manny Diaries

Dave's been watching Scarlett this week and he send me pictures everyday. Here is what I've missed! According to Dave, this is the dialogue that took place between them.

Carter playing with his new doll.

A glance from across the playmat.

"Scarlett, pay attention when I'm showing you
how to play with my toys!"

"You may be able to crawl, Carter, but you
can't catch me!!"
They are already BFF's.
"Carter, will you stop playing games so I can
check my e-mail?"

" I am keeping an eye on you, missie!"

"Dad, did you see what she did?"

"It's a good thing she is cute, or that computer
would be mine"

Because I just can't wait!!!!

Don't worry, we have more up our sleeves for Saint Patty's day. I tried to wait to post this since Valentine's day was just yesterday, but I couldn't take it anymore! I just think he looks too cute!

Engaged!

My engagement and wedding rings haven't fit me since I was 7 months pregnant and I've asked Dave every holiday since Carter was born to re-size them for me. All this week he's been putting surprises in my lunch to remind me of the day we got engaged (salt water taffy, picture of Portuguese beach, golf ball, chips and salsa) and last night at our Valentine's date he proposed with the rings! So technically I think I'm engaged!
I got Dave a heart shaped pizza from his favorite pizza place that he never gets to eat at anymore!
What's a romantic living room picnic without sparkling cider?
Tada! Here it is! Oh how I've missed you! He got down on one knee and everything! After he proposed we watched PS I Love You. It was a great Valentine's date.
Other pictures:
Carter still does the ET thing...
Carter trying to pretend he didn't just tickle Elmo!
For Christmas Dave's Grandparents sent Carter a gift card to Walmart which we hadn't used. I went with my friend Stacey to find sleds and saw this. It was on SUPER clearance so I only had to pay a few dollars out of pocket. Thanks Gran and Gpa!
It's meant to be sat on
Carter playing with "Slugger" or as I like to call him "Mr. Baseball". When you squeeze his hand he giggles which means when you squeeze his hand Carter giggles!
