A Zoo Afternoon

Last Saturday we went to the zoo with the Edwards family to enjoy the sunshine and "warm" weather. It was nice to be able to use our family pass again, which we will be doing a lot more once the nice weather is here to stay. This was also the day of the infamous first kiss between Carter and Emery that was scrapbooked by Brook and blogged a couple days ago.

Looks like we weren't the only ones enjoying the sun.

Raffes!!

Carter and Emery enjoying the tiger ride.

It's okay Mr. Monkey, we will be back soon.

Funny Story

Last Saturday night, while working at Blockbuster as the manager on duty, I had a very stressful, yet funny experience. Saturdays, as you can probably guess, are very busy especially when the other two employees I was working with were hired at about the same time I was. When I got to work around 5:30 I could see that both tills were already low on $1's and $5's, so I needed to get change from the safe. Our safe has a time lock, so it requires waiting a certain amount of time to open it once the combo is entered. When it is ready it beeps for about a minute then stops and you have to start all over again. I started the safe 3 times but kept forgetting to open the safe because I was busy with customers or helping one of the other employees. I tried starting it a few more times and paid close attention so I wouldn't miss it again, but the safe wouldn't beep. I was getting super frustrated because both tills were pretty much out of $1's and $5's and we had to try and get customers to pay with either small bills or cards. I feared that I might have locked up the safe and that it would never open because of so many failed attempts. After about 4 hours of this, I finally texted the store manager to see if she knew how to get the safe to open. She responded by telling me she forgot to tell me the new combination for the safe. I was so tired and relieved that I just laughed hysterically and told the manager that she owed me big time for putting me through all this craziness.

The Handy Mann Can!

We got a good tax return this year and we decided to use our state return to get fun (but practical) items. We ended up getting a camcorder, a nice light weight stroller and baby gates!
Instead of waiting for my darling husband to assemble everything I thought I would take a crack at it.

Our new cute stroller assembled perfectly:

Look how tiny it folds up!
Phew, glad I don't have any Babbies.

And here is one of our 2 "babby" gates. I still have to do the second one. Won't Dave be surprised!!! Hopefully he notices them before he trips!

tantrums, screams and surprises

The cause of Carter's first real kicking, screaming tantrum:
He just wants to walk with his walker but after turning him a million times we get tired of it. This is after the peak of the tantrum:
Carter and Scarlett playing their version of rockband. It's dark but still worth watching:

I got a surprise visit from the Pierce's tonight and after Carter got over his stranger anxiety this is how I found him:

After George's house we went with John, Noelle and the kids to the Hardester's cabin in Idaho. It was beautiful and we definitely weren't expecting snow.

We didn't have a high chair so he got to be a big boy.

We were so sad to leave but it is nice to be home and just have another boring evening! Carter had SO much fun playing with his cousins and cannot wait until they live close and he can see them all the time.

Home after a long weekend of fun!

Carter is winding down in front of his favorite movie after a long drive and a weekend of excitement.
