Ok, so here's the deal

So a couple of days before John, Noelle and the kids came out here we got this wild idea that we could find a house with a basement apartment for us to rent. It's been up and down, yes and no and we thought we weren't going to find the perfect place until they stumbled upon the place pictured below. They went to just look at the main house and while they were there the couple renting it out said that they were renting out the basement separately. They asked to see it and called us right away. It's pretty perfect! We went to look at it and we love it. All we have to do is turn in our application and get approved and we will move in as of August 1st! The couple renting it said that if we wanted it it was ours so I'm not too worried. I will hopefully be able to post pictures of the basement apartment soon. The picture below doesn't show our portion of the house at all but you get the idea. We'll pretty much be doubling our space and the kitchen!!! Oh my goodness, I love this kitchen! Anyway, applications go in tomorrow! Wish us luck!

This is the place!!!

Talk about embarrassing!

This went out via email to my ENTIRE workplace. Ya. 2nd most embarrassing moment of my life!

"...22 pounds, and I've never felt better..."

MGIS' own success story: Congratulations to Brook Mann, who has successfully lost 22 pounds since February of this year by simply modifying her eating habits, and spending her morning breaks and 30 minutes of her lunch in MGIS' onsite work-out facility. We want YOU to have the same opportunity, which is why we are giving all of MGIS an extra week to put together your work out and pedometer step teams. We will be starting the Shape Up contest on July 6! Last year, there were many similar success stories and we can't wait to share this year's with you. Are you going to be a part of that success?

Jumping bean!

I watched Emery today for a little bit after work and this was there activity of choice. They both wanted to get in the "cage" as we call it so I let them and I couldn't stop laughing at this! Neither could Carter and Emery! I just had to make sure she didn't jump on him but she was very careful.

It would be AWESOME!!!

So, The Philpotts are moving out here and we just go the idea "why don't we live together?" Huh, why hadn't we thought of that? So Noelle found this 7 bedroom house with a finished basement and she is calling about it tomorrow!!! It would be so cool! It would be us and Abby in the basement which would be totally fine by me! Plus it's kind of win, win, win since it will save us all money! We might not get this house but even so. It may not happen and that's ok, but just thinking about it makes me happy.
I'M SO EXCITED!!!!

*To all of my mom's group friends: Don't worry! If this does work out I will still plan and attend all the activites! You won't even realize I'm gone!

A good place for Carter's artwork!

Not just bath time friends.

Dave gave Carter 2 of his alligator bath toys to play with this morning and it appears that he hasn't let go of them all day! He was even holding them when they came to pick me up from work!

Go Slymers!

Today is my first volleyball game at work, but don't worry I don't think any of you are going to be close enough to get hurt! Wish me luck!

Kisses!

You know you have a toddler when:

... you don't mind getting your face soaked for a kiss!

My little genius!

This is the proof that Carter is some sort of genius.

You know you have a toddler when:

... you say "Good job" when someone puts a fork in a hole.

Screeching

Here is a small, small taste of Carter's screeching. Think someone wants his Daddy?

You know you have a toddler when:

... you start to wonder if you can hear the noises only dogs are supposed to hear.

Captain Destructo part 2

You know you have a toddler when:

... you find yourself wielding a video camera when your house is being destroyed.

Daddy's Day!

We had a nice Father's day but sadly a short one since Dave was able to pick up a shift at another store tonight and we aren't in a position to turn down work. Here are the events from the day.

Dave told me not to spend money on him for Father's day so this is what he got. The only part I even touched was the writing. He did the rest by himself. You can't see it on the scanned copy but he even turned his crayon sideways and sort of shaded the paper. It took about 30 minutes just to get this so I am very happy with it!

And Dave was happy with it too. He even wore the tie we got him the day we were supposed to be induced (the day before Carter was born.) It's made out of newspaper.

Our version of a Father's day BBQ! We even did homemade fries. Carter enjoyed them a lot!

Carter and Daddy shared a popsicle!

Usually I'm the one that wants to buy certain clothes for him but this is one of the few shirts Dave insisted we get. We bought it a while ago and it hasn't fit him until now so I thought it would be good for Father's day!

Carter didn't think the drawing was enough of a present so he made art in another form (Video to follow):

Mommy decided not to clean them up until Carter went to bed because he would've just pulled them down again. It did not stop him from playing.

In case you did not think my child was a genius... not only can he shape sort, but he recognizes color. He always puts random objects in the color hole they belong in (video to follow):

"Mommy, I'm sorry Daddy had to work tonight. I'll give you lots of kisses to make you feel better." (Video to follow)

Father's day eve

Be prepared for more blogs than you can handle! I've been snapping so many pictures and videos these past couple of days! These are all from yesterday. I'll try to keep the explanations brief. So you will look at all the blogs to follow!

Carter after his nap. He always gets what I call crib face now that he can't use his bumper (he gets tangled in it at night.) I would love any suggestions on how to prevent this...

My little Linus.

Crunching the numbers. Literally. It's so nice of him to help with the family finances!

He's in the phase now where he is just starting to climb. I know, I'm not happy about it either.

Doing his squats. I love when he plays like this!

And last but not least: Carter, show 'em what your working with!

Being a little crazy at church!

This is what happens when mommy has to go do her calling and Carter and daddy are left by themselves in Sunday school. Please notice they are no longer in Sunday school. I can also tell you exactly what noise is coming out of his mouth but you would need to cover your ears because it is super sonic.

Happy Father's day!

Happy Father's day to all my Grandpas and Great Grandpas. Sorry this picture is so old but it was from last Father's Day.

No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Another patio meal and some fun.

It's just me and the Mann cub today so we decided to eat lunch out on the patio before it got too yucky outside.

Enjoying the sun

Mmmm... Tuna fish sandwich!

I'm just going to sit here and drink my gatorade! Behind Carter is a shower curtain we put up to try to hide some stuff we are storing on the patio. I guess it's better than looking at bins full of crap...

Where's Carter?

I love hanging out with my guy. He makes me laugh. I just wish Dave could be home with us!

Our pancakes were a little messy this morning!

Adventures in Scarlett sitting

We watched Scarlett today while her mommy was at work and her daddy is out of town. Here are some pictures from our busy busy day!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair...

We went to the park to tucker them out and so they wouldn't get stir crazy at home.

Scarlett was so sleepy but she was a good sport. I am sad I don't have a girl's hair to do so I took advantage of Scarlett's hair and played with one of my bows.

My best try of them together...

After a 2 and 1/2 hour nap (yes both of them at the same time) we went swimming for Mom's group. Dave came down and when one started shivering we would trade so they each got a few turns in the pool.

Carter and Emery were enjoying their "love boat" and Melissa will probably hate me for posting a pic of her in her swim suit but I think she looks cute!

"Hey Sailor, can I have a lift?"

Scarlett's turn!

Carter again!

After the pool we wanted to clean the kids up and get the chlorine off so we gave them a bath (with Stacey's permission of course.) Dave actually asked "How do you wash a girl's hair?"

It was a busy busy day but lots of fun. Carter loves seeing his friends and getting out of the house. Thanks Scarlett for playing with us today!
