My big little boy

My little boy is growing up! He has officially grown out of the swaddle! In fact he's napping unswaddled right now.

While we were singing him goodnight
Not his first choice in position (I had to flip him and scoot him down) but he slept like this from about 8PM to 6AM!
Sweet Potatoes in his super special Halloween bib from Cristina!
Posing because he knew Cristina wanted a picture
All clean
One of my favorite shirts (yes the writing is in french)
I dress him in orange after he eats sweet potatoes and I'm usually glad I do.

We also wanted to say Happy Birthday to Michael Philpott!!!!! Hope it's awesome and we can't wait to see you in a few weeks!

Whenever he does something cute...

The Holy War

I'm pretty sure this is how this years U of U vs BYU game is going to go:

It's anybody's ball

Utah takes possession
BYU tries to trick Utah into passing to them
It works. Utah fumbles.
They laugh about it

BYU sees a chance to steal the ball
He goes for it...

...and gets distracted.

Good game!

Thanks to Carter and his friend Max for helping demonstrate the game!

finishing touches!

After we finally hung these last shelves we are now officially done with Carter's room! More pics later.

Un-declaration.

I know in the past I've refused to talk politics with people and in the future I will be doing the same but after a recent conversation with a friend I feel it is important to share my political opinion once. I've always been afraid to inform myself and vote because I knew I would disagree with so many people that I care about. I figured ignorance was bliss and if I didn't know how I was voting I couldn't argue with anybody. I'm registered undeclared and I think that is very true. I was a conservative Californian and I am a liberal Utahan. That's just how it is. I will NOT discuss how I am voting on ANY certain issue and I think politics are a very personal thing. I realize that the people that disagree with my political stance will probably not like this post, but I hope they will at least respect me for having my opinion. That's the beautiful thing about America, we do have the right to choose for ourselves.
This post was not meant to offend anyone on either side of the political spectrum. It was meant to say that I want to vote, even if that means I disagree with the people that I love (which for the most part I do.) I don't want to have to worry about hurt feelings like I have in the past and I also don't want to discuss how I am voting. This is the one thing in my life that I like to keep private and for good reason. I love you all and respect you for having such strong beliefs and opinions and hope I didn't ruffle any feathers. I do plan to vote in the next election.

Lil' Ute!

And... where I think the quidditch world cup was held.

There are a lot of October birthdays in our families!!! Happy Birthday Noelle! We are sad we can't celebrate with you but we hope it is good. Thank you for always being there for us and it was nice talking to you yesterday!!

A fun day!

Today was a very full day:

Ikea with Stacey and Scarlett (not a very flattering picture but kind of funny)

Some good purchases: A (machine washable) play rug for Carter $15
Finger puppets that were cracking him up.

Grocery shopping and making dinner with Rachelle for our Halloween themed FHE. Mashed potato ghosts...

Carter was worn out from Ikea (even though he slept almost the whole time) and for the first time fell asleep on the floor. Face down.

He had to get a little more comfortable.

It was Jeff's turn to share his mission pictures and stories.

We played another fun game we got:

I built the monster and I WON!!! Yeah. I didn't think I did but Jeff read the rules again after we finished and it turned out I had won a while ago. Oops.

It was a very full day! I'm hanging out with some friends tomorrow morning so I should really get to bed.

Carter's personal add:

Carter is a happy, talkative little mann who loves puppets, his mommy singing to him, being tickled by his daddy, laughing, typing, sweet potatoes, going to bed on time, having his diaper changed, his baby Bjorn, car rides, being swaddled, the zoo, his friends Scarlett, Max and Allie, plastic cups, binkies, rolling over, taking a bath, They Might be Giants, toys and getting his picture taken. He hates the noise a plastic bag makes, getting his boogers sucked out, being ignored, bananas, sleeping in, getting shots, airports and motorcycles.
He's an interesting little guys and already has a great personality. I can't wait to see what else makes the list in the future.

Lazy Sunday

Today 2 of us had a very lazy Sunday:

Watching his movie before church

Daily photo shoot by the pumpkins before church. He finally fits this 3 month shirt and 3-6 month pants! Hooray!

When Carter woke up from his nap he came and woke me up!

Mmmm... good and easy. Pasta bake for dinner.

We even read what I would consider a lazy book for bedtime:

Dave's been working on homework today so we've basically been trying to stay out of his way. He'll probably be up late. The baby is in bed so I'm headed over to Stacey's house so I don't distract him.

This picture was taken a few days ago when Rachelle forced me to go on a walk instead of napping. Thanks for the sling Noelle, it works great!

BOO at the Zoo!

Today we took Carter to Boo at the zoo with Rachelle and Stacey and Scarlett. It's where kids get dressed up in costumes and trick or treat at the zoo. At least we thought that's what it was until we got there and realized it's hanging out in the parking lot for half an hour, waiting in long lines for a butterscotch and not seeing any animals. We did have fun people watching and looking at people's costumes, but I don't think we will go again. Here are some pictures of Carter and Scarlett in their costumes (most by the famous pumpkins...)

Twin TV face

Scarlett the bully.

His costume for the car (or any time he needs 2 legs)
