9 month check up (a few weeks late)

This past Friday Carter had his 9 month check up. The doctor says he looks great and that we are doing a great job of fattening him up! Carter has never had a problem with going to the doctor before but this time it was the strangest, saddest thing. As soon as we started taking his clothes off he got really sad and when I tried to put him on the scale he leeched onto my sweatshirt and clung as tightly to me as he could. We seriously had to peel him off! When we got back in the room and were waiting for the doctor we finally got him to calm down by giving him his "raffe" (pronounced like the last half of giraffe) and once the doctor came in he just stared at him. We love our doctor and he was really sweet to Carter. He let him keep his "raffe" and even made sure Raffe was healthy too! First he checked Carter's feet, then Raffe's feet and so on. (I hope we don't have to pay for Raffe's check up too!) Both Carter and his pal are healthy. Carter is close to 17 lbs and the doctor has given us the go ahead to start solids and stage 3 foods. He doesn't like the stage 3s but he really likes his sweet potato puffs. We will keep gradually introducing new things and hopefully keep the weight coming. He's not quite on the chart yet for his weight but his length (28.4 inches) is exactly 50th % and his head circumference (18.2 inches) is exactly 75th %. Our goal is to get him on the charts by his next appointment!

Speaking of the charts... Thanks Jeff and Rachelle for scanning these for us!

Check out the upward line! He's growing!

Sad boy! Yes, that is a tear stain next to him!
