How do you know you are getting more comfortable in the kitchen? When you don't use your tiny paring knife for every slicing job! I got this knife for Dave for his birthday, gosh I don't know, before we were married and I've barely ever used it. Today I decided it would be safer to use a bigger knife while cutting apples (don't worry Grandma I'm always careful with whatever knife I use) and I loved it! I felt like such a pro slicing through those granny smiths! I'll have to find more recipes that require serious chopping.

Dave had a bit of an accident making potato soup, but it was cool figuring out that our stove props up like the hood of a car. Sad that it took us that long to figure out.
